In an increasingly technological world, EMS is keeping up, most recently in the form of their new website. This site, to be released approximately February 15th, is the creation of Mike Stoltzfus and Ben Bixler with only minimal outside help. Bixler said, “It is time for a new look to our website. Our current website design simply looks outdated.”
The main changes will be the color scheme, navigation around the site, and a more “visually pleasing” design compared to the current “text-heavy” format. The site is meant to show those who are unfamiliar with EMS, including potential students, what the school is like and all it has to offer, even before they visit in person. This will be done through the use of videos, podcasts, slideshows, and other digital stories showing what takes place in the classrooms. As it develops, Bixler hopes that updating these stories will be work shared by all of the school’s teachers. “My goal is that is a website which everyone helps to create.”
The current web address is, and will remain, easternmennoniteschool.org. Emhs.net will also redirect viewers to the new site, even though EMS is now a K-12 school and high school is not the proper name. For those Windsock readers who use the link off the old EMS website, do not worry. The new site will also have a Windsock link and will even be featured on the front page when the site is first launched.
